Lawmakers Keeping Up Bipartisan Momentum On Drug Pricing

House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee Takes Up Transparency Bills Tuesday

Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) today released a statement ahead of a U.S. House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health hearing on improving drug pricing transparency on Capitol Hill:

“We applaud House lawmakers for keeping up the bipartisan momentum to lower prescription drug prices and hold Big Pharma accountable this Congress,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson.  “There have been over a dozen hearings on drug prices this year and several important market-based measures have already been passed in the House — a level of activity that illustrates the commitment lawmakers have made to delivering results for American patients.”

“We have long-supported increased transparency from Big Pharma as an important component of a market-based approach to lowering drug prices,” Aronson added. “We encourage lawmakers to express support for and take action on bipartisan bills that will hold Big Pharma accountable for the industry’s egregious price-gouging practices.”
