Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) issued a statement today ahead of a hearing on prescription drug prices scheduled for Tuesday before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Subcommittee on Primary Health and Retirement Security. The chairman of the subcommittee is Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
“CSRxP commends Senator Sanders and members of the Committee for calling attention to the crisis of prescription drug prices and urgent need to hold Big Pharma accountable,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson. “Hearings like this one are critical to building momentum in Congress behind bipartisan, market-based solutions to hold Big Pharma accountable and lower drug prices for millions of Americans.”
