Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) released a briefing packet Monday for Members of Congress that aims to provide lawmakers, their staff and stakeholders critical information on out-of-control prescription drug prices and outline bipartisan, market-based solutions to hold brand name manufacturers accountable and deliver relief for American patients.
“Out-of-control drug prices are one of the biggest challenges facing our nation today,” CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson writes in the packet. “Before the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 58 million Americans struggled to afford their prescription drugs. Now, the economic impact of the crisis continues to leave millions of American workers, families and seniors struggling just to stay afloat. Meanwhile, prescription drug prices continue to rise, making it harder and harder for American patients to afford their medications at the most challenging of moments: in the midst of America’s battle against the pandemic.”
