CSRXP: HOUSE MARKUPS ADD TO UNPRECEDENTED MOMENTUM TO HOLD BIG PHARMA ACCOUNTABLE

Committee Leaders Put Forward Solutions to Lower Prescription Drug Prices for Patients, Seniors and Taxpayers

Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) released a statement Tuesday on the start of legislative markups before the U.S. House Committee on Energy & Commerce and Committee on Ways & Means on policies to address out-of-control prescription drug prices.

“CSRxP commends Chairman Pallone, Chairman Neal and committee lawmakers for adding to the unprecedented momentum for action to address out-of-control prescription drug prices with legislative markups this week,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson. “CSRxP applauds committee leaders for focusing on solutions that will deliver relief for the American people and hold Big Pharma accountable, including measures to boost competition and transparency, promote greater value in the system and reform Medicare Part D to cap out-of-pocket costs for seniors, keep price hikes below the rate of inflation and discourage price-gouging by requiring Big Pharma to pay their fair share in the catastrophic phase of coverage.”
