CSRxP Encourages U.S. House of Representatives to Pass Bipartisan CREATES Act

Commends Lawmakers of Both Parties for Working Together to Advance Key Drug Pricing Measures Through Committee Process

Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) today released a statement encouraging the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the bipartisan CREATES Act and Protecting Consumer Access to Generic Drugs Act of 2019 – two drug pricing measures slated for a floor vote Thursday:

“The passage of the bipartisan CREATES Act, will mark a critical first step toward holding Big Pharma accountable for the industry’s anti-competitive tactics and lowering prescription drug prices,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson. “After years of opposition from Big Pharma, we urge the House to deliver for American patients by passing the CREATES Act and additional bipartisan, market-based measures to lower prescription drug prices.”

“We applaud the bipartisan cooperation that went into advancing these important market-based solutions through the committee process. We encourage leaders, in both parties and in both chambers, to continue to advance market-based solutions to lower the price of prescription drugs in that spirit of bipartisan cooperation to give these measures the greatest possibility of becoming law. More competition and more choices mean lower drug prices and lower costs for consumers and patients.”
