CSRxP: Congress Takes First Step On Drug Pricing, Now Lawmakers Must Deliver

Encourages House Leaders To Keep The Momentum Going Following Passage Of First Drug Pricing Bills of 116th Congress

Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) today released a statement following the passage of the first drug pricing bills considered by the full U.S. House of Representatives in the 116th Congress.  Those bills, the Purple Book Continuity Act of 2019 and Orange Book Transparency Act of 2019, passed the House Thursday with overwhelming bipartisan support.

“We applaud House lawmakers for taking this first step on the crisis of rising prescription drug prices,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson.  “Now the hard work begins to truly deliver for the American people by advancing critical, market-based solutions that will boost competition, increase transparency and lower prices.”
